I'm not gonna lie, 2012 was pretty abysmal. Was constantly bogged down by work and emotional overhauls, and didn't spend as much time as I would have liked just sitting down and working on art things. Everything turned into a chore and it was almost physically painful to get anything out of my pencil. It's probably just me becoming an adult, but I spent the year being unable to shake the feeling that I had something more important to do, and that I just didn't have time for anything except tiny doodles. It really got in the way, and I'm hoping that I don't encounter that as much in 2013.
Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr - probably the calm before the storm, I did a lot more "bigger pieces" than I would have for the rest of the year. Started feeling stressed about work/ect, worried about the direction CW was going, what I wanted to do, MANY SILLY THINGS DERR.
May/Jun/Jul/Aug - put on my big girl panties and finally started the CW comic. Agonized over it for a while, sought the wise words of other comic artists, which turned out to be "do it" "but i-" "just do it" "but the story isn-" "JUST DO IT". It's not going as fast as I hoped it would - I was really aiming for uploads once a week, but I quickly realized how draining it is to do pages. I'm considering the prologue a "learning experience", and am hoping to have more regular updates when I reach chapter 1. Workflow went down the toilet when pages began exhausting me.
Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec - Still struggling with comic pages at this point, made a derpy choice to make a Halloween Flash game LIKE TWO WEEKS BEFORE HALLOWEEN, which was a bad idea. Work flow pretty much halted and I did nothing in October but work on the game, finally got it out a week into November. Was so exhausted and pretty much cried when I saw how much everyone was enjoying it - aside from starting the comic, probably my best art moment this year. Then it got a DD and many bricks were shat.
As for December, I'm currently finishing up my first term back at college - I've recently made some terribad choices in respects to that, so I'm currently waiting for them to blow over, and then I'm crossing all my fingers for Uni. I'm hoping I can manage my time better, and just find the time to sit down and draw for fun. Next year is going to be rough money-wise, so I'm probably going to begin commissions soon.
Oh my goodness, I LOVE your works! Your art style is just unparalleled, and your Clockwork characters are absolutely darling! It's amazing to see how your art and story has come along within the past year... Can't wait to see what next year's will look like...!
